Website design ain’t easy

by Noel Wiggins

Website design may not being as easy to develop as clients may seem to think.

Yes you can have your cousin’s neighbor’s friend develop your site for a couple of bucks, but you would probably get what you pay for.
A site that isn’t positioned to communicate to well to your target audience, or does not have a lot of functionality to it or have the ability to drive traffic to your website.

In this day and age of elance, 99 design, and crowdsource it is difficult for professional companies to be competitive with pricing without cutting corners on what makes a professional website “professional”. This list of ideas will showcase when you get a quote for a website and one says $30,000 and the other says $130,000 you should consider the higher one first.

Henry Ford aimed to design and build cars that the people could afford believing that the more people buying your $1,000 website is better than the few people buying your $10,000 website.

I agree and aim to provide excellent customer service along with a professional product for a price that is easy for a client to fit into their budget while making enough money to cover the development cost to building that product.

Every project I work on is custom to the customer I work for, I believe that every project can be done efficiently and cost effectively to ensure no loss of quality happens.

Every project is unique with its own sets of creative challenges, I believe that the creativity should be focussed on the design of the project not on how the design project is done. Every project gets documented and at the conclusion is analyzed to see what steps could be improved on so it could be accomplished more efficiently, ensuring that the project will runs as smoothly as possible.

The key element that separates amateurs from the professionals is the ability to design the look and feel that would communicate the best to your target audience. We don’t use templates or stock “pre designed” solutions. Each project is designed with your customers in mind and we’ll tweak this design together until we believe that the sites design will communicate well.

I agree that the take away from this topic is that website design ain’t easy, there are a tremendous amount of variables that can go into designing your site, and unless you hire a professional company no matter the price versus the cheaper quote, then you may not get the results you are looking for and possibly even spend even more money in the long run being you will hav eto hire the professionals in the end anyway.
