Is horizontal scrolling for you ? website design
by
I think whenever major changes to the way a visitor navigates your website.
It may make it harder for a user to “figure” out what to do.
And with so many challenges a website faces, why make it harder to keep the traffic on your site.
Most visitors are used to scrolling up and down not left and right. If they can figure it out quick enough then they could be in for a treat. This type of navigation and presentation could be a refreshing change.
Especially for design studios this is a great way to stand out and let future prospects know that you think differently…
If you decide to give this approach a try for your website to help you “stand out” from the sea of vertical scrolling websites, then keep a close eye on your bounce rate in your web stats, if its 100% bounce rate no one is “getting it” if you have about a 50% bounce rate your doing ok, if you have less than that then wo hoo you have discovered something great.
