2 types of Revisions Billable and Non Billable

by Noel Wiggins

One of the biggest issues any new project may have is the need for tweaks and revisions.

In the creative industry such as professional graphic design, there are ton of unknown variables and endless possibilities, but if the project is priced on a flat rate basis vs, a time and material basis, then these tweaks and revisions need to be monitored and controlled in a professional manner.

At No Pun I aim to provide each of my clients the best possible product possible. I want to work with the client to push the creativity the highest level, I want each project to sorta out do any past projects. And in many cases this can be accomplished by the clients feedback and direction. But I have to point out that there are plenty of times where, the changes and time needed to do these changes go far beyond the scope of the project.

Each project has 2 types of revisions, Non Billable and Billable. No body is perfect including me as a designer, if I flub something up and miss an element typo or forget to swap something out, That classifies as a Non Billable Change. If at some point in the project a design elements needs to be changed or a new section needs to be added that previously wasn’t that way then that is a Billable change.

A professional graphic designer is great to work with because this is someone who can help you bring a vision to life, but if that vision keeps changing because of uncertainty, or because a new vision comes to mind after seeing the first design, then these changes will need to be accommodated with-in the budget.
